Ongoing Classes

Afghan Club - $10 a session
FRIDAY April 4 & 18,& May 2 & 16, 2:30-4:30 pm Complete just a square or 2 each month, and before you know it, you’ll have a whole afghan. The cost of the Great American Aran Afghan book is additional. (Note: You may also choose a different pattern if you wish)

Sock Club - $20 to join, and $5. each session,– April 22, May 6 & 20, 2:30- 4:30 From May on, Sock Club will meet every 1st and 3rd Thursday, Attending this class will heal you if you are suffering or have suffered from “Single Sock Syndrome. Members will receive 15% off their purchases of sock yarn. (Must know how to make socks.)

Knitting Workshop $10 per session or 5 sessions for $40. Mondays, 3:00-5:00pm Bring in your current unfinished project and get help, or start a new one, while enjoying knitting with others. Here’s a chance to learn something new each session.

Private Lessons $15.00 per hour. Come and learn anything you would like, knit or crochet, or to get individual help with a project.

Stitch and Bitch (SnB) Free! 1st and 3rd Thursdays, 3:00-5:00 AND every Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 pm Come and join others to socialize while you knit. (No Instruction, just fun)
Old Favorites

Learn to Knit - $40 Sign up for this 3 session class, and we will schedule the sessions at a time when everyone can come. Learn to knit and purl, how to read a yarn label, and patterns, how to choose yarn and needles, and much more. Make your first scarf, and if you knit a lot, perhaps a shawl, too.

Socks! - $40 May 13 & 27, 10:30-12:30 pm (Third session will be the 2nd Tuesday in June. In 3 sessions you will learn how to use either double pointed or circular needles, turn the heel, pick up the gusset, decrease the toe and use the kitchener stitch to weave the ends. Includes pattern.

New Classes

Tech Class Series- $8 per session OR $40 for all 6 sessions Mondays, April 7-May 12, 2:-3:00 January This series will focus on learning the following knitting techniques: 4/7 – making buttonhoes – different ways/ different sizes; 4/14 – different ways to cast on – how each one behaves; 4/21- learn to follow a chart pattern; 4/28 – Different decreases – how each one looks; 5/5-Making Bobbles – different ways and sizes; and 5/12- Increases – how each one looks.

Jan’s Red Sweater Class $30 Wednesday April 9, 3:00-6:00 This class will focus on Chris Bylsma’s (not really Jan’s) sweater pattern called “Rolling Stones”. We will practice the pattern and then get started with the sweater, which you should be able to finish on your own, or at Knitting Workshop on Mondays. This is an intermediate level class

OOOPS! Class Series - $5 per session OR $25 for all 6 sessions, Wednesdays April 16 – May 21, 5:30-6:00 This series will focus on learning to fix the following mistakes: 4/7 – picking up dropped stitches; 4/14 – Fixing incorrect knit and purl stitches; 4/21- fixing slipped stitches; 4/28 How to know if you knit in the wrong direction; 5/5-Knowing an extra stitch was picked up, and correcting it; and 5/12- correcting yarn over mistakes. Each m”fix” will be demonstrated, and then you can practice doing it yourself, Bring a swatch to class, on the needles, with for of 5 rows each of garter stitch and stockinette stitch.

One-Sleeved Summer Shawl, $20. Wednesday, April 16, 3:30-5:30 This shawl is easy and fun and a good way to learn/practice cables, seed stitch, and garter stitch. Unique construction makes it easier to wear than a regular rectangular shawl. A sample can be viewed at the shop.

UFO Day $20 Saturday May 31st 9:00am – 2:00 pm with a break for lunch. This is the day to drag out any UnFinished knitted Objects. You can get any help you need, and encourage others to finished previously abandoned projects. We’ll break for lunch together (not included in class cost ) at a local place at 11:30, and then return to finish up, and celebrate our achievements.
